The parade serves as the traditional kick-off for Suwanee Day, and this year the parade will open this annual community festival a little earlier than has been tradition. The 2012 parade will begin at 9 a.m.

The theme for the 2012 parade will be “Celebrate America: Red, White and Blue.” Parade participants are encouraged to decorate their floats and perform based on the theme.

To encourage participation and creativity, Suwanee Day provides cash prizes to parade entrants who are the best in a variety of categories, including Best Reflection of Theme, as determined by a distinguished panel of judges.

The approximately 1.25-mile parade route travels north from Russell Road up Buford Highway, briefly along Suwanee Dam, and then south along Main Street. Check back to this website around June for information and applications for the 2012 Suwanee Day parade.
