Thank you, volunteers!
We couldn’t do it without you
“I can no other answer make, but thanks, and thanks.”
--William Shakespeare
Suwanee Day continues to grow bigger and better each year thanks, in large measure, to a group of very dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers. The Suwanee Day planning committee works for months putting together activities, lining up sponsors and entertainment, and making all the behind-the-scenes arrangements that allow the festival to be a fun, special day for the approximately 40,000 who attend each year. A very special thank you to our hard-working committee members!
“Day of” festival volunteers numbered more than 200 in 2007—a record! Thank you, one and all volunteers, for your energy and time! Several community organizations rallied and provided the festival with many, many volunteer hours. Our thanks to North Gwinnett High School Junior Civitan, Peachtree Ridge High School Key Club, and Shadowbrook Baptist Church as well as volunteers from other area schools, including Collins Hill, Lakeview Academy, and Phoenix. A special thanks to the MOMS Club of Suwanee-East for helping distribute dozens of posters to area businesses.
Planning for the silver celebration of Suwanee Day will begin early in 2008. If you’d like to be a part of the planning committee, email Amy Doherty or call her at 770/945-8996. Registration for “day of” volunteers will begin on this website in early summer 2008.
